Night Nurse Cost in NYC: Rates and Planning Your Care

At Storkville, an eight-hour night of newborn care is $520 for one baby or $600 for twins. I also offer ten- and twelve-hour nights, so you can plan for the evening and morning support that would help your family most.

I’m Andrea, the person behind Storkville Newborn Care. Families often call my work “night nursing” or “baby nursing.” I’m a newborn care specialist rather than an actual nurse, like an RN or LPN. I provide expert overnight care in Yorkville, the Upper East Side and Long Island City.

If you are still deciding what overnight care includes, start with how night nurse care works in NYC. This page focuses on current prices, shift lengths and planning a care budget.

My overnight care rates

ShiftOne babyTwins
8 hours$520 per night$600 per night
10 hours$650 per night$750 per night
12 hours$780 per night$900 per night

These rates work out to $65 an hour for one baby or $75 an hour for twins across the overnight options shown above.

Turn a nightly rate into a care budget

Multiply the nightly rate by the number of nights you are considering. For example, four eight-hour nights total $2,080 for one baby or $2,400 for twins. Four ten-hour nights total $2,600 or $3,000, respectively.

If different nights call for different hours, add each shift separately. Two eight-hour nights plus two ten-hour nights would total $2,340 for one baby. That is a budgeting illustration; we'll discuss the schedule you want alongside my availability and agree on the nights, hours and total before booking.

Choose the hours around your household

An eight-hour shift creates a defined overnight window. Ten or twelve hours can extend help into the evening or morning. Think about what those additional hours would make possible: an earlier handoff before bed, more time around feeds, or a later morning before you take over.

You may also be planning around a return to work, a partner’s travel or days when family can help. My flexible overnight support guide explores how care can fit those changing routines.

Expert care for your baby. Rest and reassurance for you.

When I care for your baby overnight, I bring a lifetime of experience caring for babies, professional newborn-care expertise, and current pediatric CPR and first-aid certifications. I pay attention to your baby’s cues, support feeding and settling, and work with you to make the night fit your family’s needs.

We plan around your feeding choices and when you want to be involved. Whether I’m bringing your baby to you for nursing or handling an agreed bottle feed, I take care of the surrounding burping, diaper changes and soothing so you can return to rest.

You work directly with me, Andrea—from our first conversation through the morning handoff. I share feeding, sleep and diaper logs through Baby Connect, and we review the night together so you know how your baby’s night went.

Compare the care behind the price

A useful comparison goes beyond the hourly number. Ask who will care for your baby, which duties are included, and what hours and nights the quote covers. For twins, confirm that the quoted price includes both babies.

Ask about additional charges, minimum commitments, changes to dates, cancellations and what happens if the planned caregiver is unavailable. Having those details together helps you compare the arrangements you would actually be booking.

With Storkville, you speak directly with me, the person who will care for your baby. My independent specialist versus agency guide explains the different ways care can be arranged.

Let’s plan your overnight support
