Night Nurse NYC: Expert Overnight Newborn Care

When you are caring for a newborn around the clock, overnight help can give you time to rest while someone else takes care of the next feed, diaper change or settling.

I’m Andrea. If you’re looking for a night nurse or night nanny in NYC, I offer expert overnight newborn care directly to your family. I’m a newborn care specialist rather than an actual nurse, like an RN or LPN. My focus is expert care for your baby through the night and practical support for you.

I offer overnight care for one baby or twins in Yorkville and the Upper East Side and Long Island City. Together, we agree on the hours, feeding plan and responsibilities for the night.

Storkville offers eight-, ten- and twelve-hour overnight shifts for one baby or twins. Care can include feeding support, bottle preparation, burping, diaper changes, soothing, settling, Baby Connect logs and a morning handoff. See current overnight-care rates and budget examples.

What I help with overnight

Every night is planned around your baby’s needs, your feeding choices and the times you want to be involved. Care can include preparing bottles, bringing your baby to you for nursing, burping, diaper changes, soothing and settling. I take care of the work around each feed so you can return to rest when that is your plan.

My support can extend beyond the baby’s immediate care. Depending on what we agree would be helpful for your family, I may also provide emotional support, help with meals and light household tasks. We talk through those details before care begins so the overnight plan reflects your household rather than a generic checklist.

Choose eight, ten or twelve hours

An eight-hour night provides an overnight window of care. Ten or twelve hours can give you additional time in the evening or morning. We discuss the start and finish times around what would help your household most.

We can discuss keeping the same shift length or changing hours as your needs change, depending on availability. My flexible overnight support guide covers care around returning to work, partner travel and help from family. For two babies, see overnight newborn care for twins.

How much does overnight newborn care cost?

8hours

8-hour overnight care

One baby$520 / night

Twins$600 / night

A full night of hands-on newborn care so you can get a good rest. The shorter overnight window works well when you don't need the extra evening or morning coverage.

10hours

10-hour overnight care

One baby$650 / night

Twins$750 / night

Extra time at either end of the night makes room for a full night's rest, even if you're nursing or pumping. We can use that time for the evening handoff or the first morning feed before I leave.

12hours

12-hour overnight care

One baby$780 / night

Twins$900 / night

The longest overnight option, with evening and morning time included. Some families choose this in the first weeks at home or during a return to work; others keep it throughout.

An eight-hour night is $520 for one baby or $600 for twins. For example, four eight-hour nights total $2,080 for one baby or $2,400 for twins. We’ll agree on your nights, hours and total before booking.

Know how the night went

I use Baby Connect to record feeding, sleep and diaper details, then review the night with you in the morning before you take over. You have a clear account of your baby’s care rather than having to piece the night together when you wake up. My first-night preparation guide explains how to get supplies and communication arrangements ready.
