If you are looking for short-notice newborn care, check my current care availability first. Short-term support depends on an actual opening in my schedule. When your dates may fit, a few details will help us work out whether I can provide the care you need.
A gap can arise when a partner is away, family help ends, or you realize you would like support on particular nights. You can ask about the time you need without turning it into a longer care plan. I work with families in Yorkville and the Upper East Side and Long Island City.
Check care openings, not just call times
The site separates availability for overnight care from availability for a consultation. An open call time means there is time to talk; it does not mean that an overnight shift is available. Likewise, a future long-term start date does not imply that I can take a short-term request before then.
Read the short-term status and any listed dates before you inquire. If no next opening is shown, there is no next planned date being advertised. For current short-term information, use the open nights page.
Send the dates and hours you actually need
Include your neighborhood, your baby’s age or due date, whether you have one baby or twins, and the first and last nights you are considering. Name the specific nights if you know them. If your dates are flexible, explain what could move and what cannot.
Then tell me whether you are thinking about eight, ten or twelve hours, and what you would most like help with. A request such as “Tuesday and Thursday nights while my partner travels” tells me more than “some help soon.”
Review the care options before the call
The services page has the current nightly options and prices. You can decide which length seems appropriate without having every detail settled. We will talk through the care, start and finish times, and agreed arrangements before a booking is confirmed.
If you are looking several months ahead instead, the longer-term planning page is the better starting point. For care around work or family visits, the flexible support guide can help you outline the dates.
Prepare for the first night once care is agreed
After we have agreed a booking, make sure we have discussed feeding, the baby’s routine, the supplies I will use and the morning handoff. Keep the home preparation checklist handy so we can focus on your family rather than hunting for essentials.
You can also read reviews from families and browse the parent resources before our conversation.
See whether your dates fit
Start with the current short-term status. If an opening fits, send your dates and request a call; submitting the form does not reserve overnight care.
