If you are arranging overnight newborn care for twins, tell me about both babies and about you. The plan needs to account for each baby’s care, the way you are feeding, and when you want another pair of experienced hands. I have cared for both single babies and twins, and I work directly with each family to agree what those nights will look like.
I have also worked in households with more than one child. That experience helps me understand how newborn care fits around your family’s routines and the time and attention you have available.
I provide care in Yorkville and the Upper East Side and Long Island City. You can start by checking current availability; you do not need to have every detail worked out before getting in touch.
Start with the feeding and care plan you already have
We will talk through nursing, pumping, bottles or a combination, and how you would like me to help during the night. Share the instructions you have been given for each baby, including any differences between them. We should also agree how I will keep you informed and what you want covered in the morning handoff.
I offer practical feeding support, but I am not a lactation counselor. Part of helping is recognizing when to involve one. The Newborn Care Specialist Association’s scope of practice describes feeding support within a specialist’s qualifications and referral when a family’s needs go beyond that role.
Choose the length of night around your priorities
You can plan eight-, ten- or twelve-hour nights. Think about the whole shift: whether you want help earlier in the evening, more time around nursing or pumping, or support into the morning. We can discuss which length fits the care you want, rather than assuming twins always require the same schedule.
The current overnight options and prices are below. Twin pricing is shown separately so you can compare the actual nightly amount.
Choose your nightly support
8-hour overnight care
One baby$520 / night
Twins$600 / night
A full night of hands-on newborn care so you can get a good rest. The shorter overnight window works well when you don't need the extra evening or morning coverage.
10-hour overnight care
One baby$650 / night
Twins$750 / night
Extra time at either end of the night makes room for a full night's rest, even if you're nursing or pumping. We can use that time for the evening handoff or the first morning feed before I leave.
12-hour overnight care
One baby$780 / night
Twins$900 / night
The longest overnight option, with evening and morning time included. Some families choose this in the first weeks at home or during a return to work; others keep it throughout.
Plan the week, not just the first night
For the first two weeks, I offer five nights a week. After that, my preference is four nights per week on the days when you most prioritize care and support. We can discuss how that fits your household, including work schedules and help from family.
The hours do not have to fall in a straight line. You may want longer shifts throughout, shorter nights later, or more time again when a partner returns to work. The flexible support guide shows how to think through those changes. Any changes depend on the dates and hours we agree.
What to send with your inquiry
Include your due date or babies’ ages, neighborhood, intended start date, how many weeks you are considering, and the nights or hours that matter most. If the babies are coming home on different dates, include that too. Those details help us have a useful first conversation.
For more preparation, read the first-night home checklist and family reviews.
Let’s talk about support for your twins
